Remarks The Murphys were residents of Clarksburg, Md. Boyer was from Baltimore. Clara S. Steuart (Estate of, by 1938: Deed 668:492). By 1941 both cottages had been uninhabited for many years and considered "a menace to the health of the community"--McCathran recommends tearing them down; demolition permit granted 6 June 1941. "extensive improvements" made by Waddill & Nuttall 1943-45. Dr. Nuttall was a psychologist. Present house composed of two neighboring houses, connected by 1960.

Remarks In October 1896 Court F. Wood was leasing the house out. Summer kitchen moved from yard to 411 Grove Avenue, where it was appended as a wing. Assessment records date house to 1885, though these are not reliable.
